Ritual Hair Company is a small, woman-owned salon located in the heart of Coraopolis, about 20 minutes west of Pittsburgh, PA. Shaina is the owner and sole stylist at the salon. Shaina has been licensed since 2007 and specializes in lived-in natural colors, effortless cuts, and bridal hair. She decided to open her own space to provide clients with a personalized, one-on-one experience. Her goal as your stylist is to deliver beautiful results while keeping the integrity of your hair!

I moved to Coraopolis in 2017 and loved my little community so much that I decided to open a business there! I have a dog, Bunny, and a cat, Hound, that are pretty much my whole life. When I’m not at work, you can find me walking my dog, reading a book (psychological thrillers!), or binging the latest reality tv shows. I always have a house project going on and love being outside, volunteering, pilates and thrifting. My job is so special to me because I love connecting with people and learning, whether it’s life advice or a new hobby idea or fun facts. Talk to me about anything and everything!

That silvery blonde color will always look duller (unless you carry a ring light around with you everywhere) without a bit of warmth to it. Warmth reflects light and allows it to look brighter and shinier. If you see those “mushroom blonde” or “silver blonde” colors on Pinterest, I can almost always guarantee they’re using artificial lighting to make them look brighter and bold.

Figuring out lighting at night is not for the weak, or maybe I’m just not smart enough to? These are all the same head of hair with different lighting and positioning. Someone said to screen grab from videos to stay true to color but it’s a lot of work for very little reward. I tried using a light (both cool, warm, and neutral settings) and it makes the hair look too shadowed and weirdly shiny. Any tips are appreciated!
